The Boise State Men's Hockey Club would like to welcome our 2016-2017 recruits

Boise State Hockey proudly announces we have received a commitment for the upcoming 2016-17 season from Mitchell Hodges, a Defensive / Forward from La Palma, California.

Born on June 20, 1997, Hodges attended Kennedy High in La Palma, and played fierce hockey with the California Wave and the Idaho Junior Steelheads.

Hodges will major in Business at Boise State. Fitting right in with the Boise State Hockey family, his favorite quote is “Peace, Love, and Positivity”.

Boise State Hockey is excited to announce another great addition to our 2016-17 roster! Our latest Bronco to commit is Zach Biebuyck!

Born in Boise, Idaho, this 5’10”, 175 lb Defenseman scored 11 goals and 27 assists for 38 points while being a major part of the success of the Idaho Junior Steelheads 2014-15 & 2015-16 WSHL Championship seasons. Zach also played previously with the Palm Beach Hawks, and has played hockey since he was four.

Zach will be majoring in Criminal Justice with the goal of becoming a police officer.

Zach’s favorite quote is from Kunal Patel; “Don’t follow your dreams; chase them!”

Boise State Hockey is extremely pleased to announce Cole Pavlik will be hitting the ice as a Bronco for the 2016-17 College Hockey Season! The latest to commit to Boise State, Cole graduated from Edison High School in Huntington Beach, CA, having played all 4 years of high school hockey. He also played 2 years of 18AAA for the California Wave.

Playing Forward on the ice, Cole enjoys fishing, snowboarding, and walks on the beach. And fitting right into the Boise State Hockey family, Cole also likes meeting new people and giving back to his community.

Cole will be majoring in Environmental Studies and is looking forward to a career in the same field.

Says Cole, “I’m excited to wear the Bronco Blue!” Well, Cole, we are certainly excited to have you! 2016-17 Boise State Hockey will rock!

Boise State Hockey is excited and proud to announce a new goalie joining our ranks! At 5’6”, 155 lbs., Brody Cavataio has been playing hockey since the age of five. He has played for the California Heat 16aaa, moving on to the San Diego Gulls 18aa; and then for the past three years, Cavataio tended the net as a Jr. A in San Diego for the Gulls/Sabers. At the end of the 2015-16 regular season, he was traded to Ontario to help the Avalanche in their playoff run.

Brody was born and raised in North County, San Diego. He attended La Costa Canyon High School and Mission Hills High School.

On committing to Boise State, Brody tells us, “I have so many memorable moments from my Junior career. But I’d have to say that the highlight of my career is getting the opportunity to play for Boise State.”

Brody will be majoring in Business with an emphasis on Entrepreneurship. He is also joining the Coast Guard his sophomore year.

Brody: “You don’t have to be crazy to play goal, but it helps.”

Welcome, Brody, to the Boise State Hockey Family, you will definitely fit right in! Get all up and crazy in that net! We love that!!!

Boise State Hockey proudly announces our latest commitment to Boise State! At 6’3”, 185 lbs., Defenseman Griffin Ames was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Desert Vista High School.

Griffin played for the Arizona Hockey Union and the Phoenix Knights the last six years. The highlight of his Junior career was making the playoffs.

Griffin will be majoring in Business at Boise State this fall.

Boise State Hockey is pleased to announce another tremendous addition to our ranks for the 2016-17 Season! The latest to commit to Boise State, at 5’ 8”, 165 lbs., is Defenseman Chase Barnum!

Chase was born in Romania and grew up in Juneau, Alaska. He played for the 2012 Arctic Winter Game Hockey Team.

Chase played all four years of high school at Juneau-Douglas in Alaska as a member of the Crimson Bears Varsity High School Hockey team, where he scored 21 points in his Senior year. One of the highlights of Chase’s high school years occurred in 2016 during that same Senior year when, for the first time in the history on Juneau-Douglas High School, his team played in the Alaska State High School Hockey Tournament. To cap off that success, Chase was named to the All-Conference Team for Alaska.

Chase has also played for Pikes Peak Miners AAA in Colorado Springs and Tier 1 Alaska Men’s Hockey League.

Chase will be majoring in Criminal Justice at Boise State. His long-term goals are set high; he wants to become a member of either the DEA or the FBI.
